It’s been so long since I last posted nail art on my blog. I did paint my nails for Christmas, but I don’t think I posted photos here, so I believe the last time I posted nail art was the Spider-Man Far From Home nails last July. Wow. I’m so sorry if you’re following my blog for nail art. The problem with doing printmaking at uni is there’s no point painting my nails with elaborate designs if they’re just going to get covered in ink. I’m doing uni at home for now, so I can paint my nails. I’m not sure I’ll have much time to paint them, but at least I don’t have to worry about getting ink all over them.
I painted my left hand with a Spring theme because that was the prompt for a competition that I entered. However, I live in Australia, so it’s not Spring here. To set things right, I painted my right hand with an Autumn theme. I also painted a decorated egg and a dragon hatching out of an egg on my thumbs because it was Easter.
For anyone who’s interested, here’s a basic explanation of the method I used for painting my nails (feel free to ask me any questions about it)
– I painted my nails with a couple of coats of a white nail polish
– Then I painted the base colours with nail polish (blue for my left hand and orange for my right)
– I painted all the designs with really small brushes and acrylic paint
– Finally, I sealed it with a couple of coats of a clear matte nail polish
I hope you’re staying safe and that this colourful nail art brightened up your day a bit.
