I made these artworks for three of my teachers last year as a thank you for teaching and putting up with me.
They are handcut out of back paper, with a background painted with watercolours, and mounted on blue paper. This is also my original design.
I decided to paint the backgrounds all different, to make them all original, and also, so that I didn’t get bored from making the same artwork three times in a row.
The quote says: ‘Normality is a paved road. It’s comfortable to walk but no flowers grow on it.’ I gave these artworks to my art teachers, so I thought it would be fitting to use a quote that was by an artist, in this case Van Gogh.
The watercolours was a new way of creating a background for me. I think it worked quite well, but what are your thoughts?
