Here is the completed dragon egg.
There is over 200 individual scales on the egg, all of them handcut. I’m really happy with how this looks, however some of the scales didn’t match up as much as I wanted them to, due to the curve of the shape. I like how the green contrasts with the black, so that the patterns on the scales can be seen. I think the patterns make the egg look like it’s covered in lace, which emphasises how delicate the artwork, and eggs in general, are.
I think the egg would look better if it was with other eggs with different patterns, so this might be something that I do again in the future.
